Chinese Federation of Commerce of Canada Royal Canadian Army Cadets Army Cadets began forming corps in 1879 and today comprise 450 corps and boast numbers of 21,000 strong and growing. The Royal Canadian Army Cadets is a national youth organization supported by the Army Cadet League of Canada, a civilian non profit organization, and the Canadian Forces who partner to provide uniforms, equipment, training, financial support and accommodations to Army Cadets. Royal Canadian Army Cadet Objective Cadets participate in a number of activities, including ceremonial drills, marksmanship, map and compass reading, first aid, sports and citizenship events. The Cadet program is the largest federally sponsored youth program in Canada. It is offered to young Canadian men and women aged 12 to 18 years. The purpose of Cadets is to develop in youth the attributes of leadership, responsibility, discipline, engaged and active citizenship and physical fitness, communication skills and all within an environment that stimulates an interest in the Canadian Forces. Chinese Federation of Commerce of Canada encourage everyone to actively support the cadet movement as it evolves and adapts to meet the needs of our youth and prepares them to become the leaders of tomorrow. PRESS RELEASE Helps Raising Fund for Royal Army Cadet Corps Chinese Federation of Commerce of Canada (C.F.C.C.) launches a campaign to raise funds for 2381 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps. A Fund-raising Dinner & Dance Party hosted by C.F.C.C. for this purpose will take place on May 6, 2005 at the Continental Seafood Restaurant, 11700 Cambie Road, Richmond. Dr. William Cheuk, President of C.F.C.C., encourages generous support from the public to the cadet movement as it evolves and adapts to meet the needs of our youth and prepares them to become the leaders of tomorrow. Mr. Matthew Wong, Chairman of this event announces that, so far, there are about 20 sponsors of various categories – Title, Gold and Silver, hoping to raise a total of $15,000. The Royal Canadian Army Cadets is a national youth organization whose purpose is to develop in youth the attributes of leadership, engaged and active citizenship and physical fitness, all within a safe environment that stimulates an interest in the Canadian Forces. This organization is supported by the Army Cadet League of Canada - a civilian non profit organization, and the Canadian Forces who partner to provide uniforms, equipment, training, financial support and accommodations to Army Cadets. To show the support from the Chinese business sector, Chinese Federation of Commerce of Canada is pleased to host the Fund-raising Dinner & Dance. There will be lots of entertaining programs throughout the night, such as British Columbia Regiment Band of 15 persons; Rifle Drill; Taekwondo Performance; songs by celebrities and a Great 5-piece Band of Continental Seafood Restaurant.
